Lots of cars you don’t see anymore. Amazing the kind of variety people had available in the 1970s compared to today.
This road still exists, but I think it is closed off to the public, was primarily an access road for the dam you see in a couple of the background shots.

A Pinto vs a C2 Corvette vs a 240Z vs a Saab 96 . Yep, these people were doing it right. And that 240Z looked like it was ripping it up.

Found another film of the same hillclimb (actual, super 8 film, so no sound)
Lots of great machines, including a Ford Fiesta which was highly regarded for its handling in the 1970s. I can’t identify all of them though, some esoteric metal in that lot.

At 1:51 that blue one could be a Lotus? Definitely an esoteric mix of cars. I love it.

Very cool stuff. Reminds me of this stuff I found on some some DVDs of some 8mm my grandfather had filmed back in the 60s.

Then you are going to hate that is the only sound you hear in heaven, if you go there.

If heaven sounds anything like a SCCA
S
RX7 race, I’ll gladly take the alternative.

Agree about the Z. Lotus (Europa?) didn’t look too bad either. On the other hand - TR6 WTF?

No. Looks like a ‘67. Plus in 1980, I wasn’t quite born yet.
